Well, I'm sure everyone has long since forgotten about this website, maybe even this band, but I'm updating it anyway.
For those who didn't know, I moved back to MN. I've got my reasons, and they have little, if anything, to do with anyone who would actually be reading this. In a nutshell, I feel like I did what I went to AZ to do, and that was to make great music with my brother and two other guys
I did that, and now I'm done. Now that I've got two wonderful boys at home (and not in the same filthy way that Schmidter has 2 wonderful boys at home), I've decided to shift my gears into old man mode and start being a father. It's not to say I couldn't be both, but I feel like I was not being a very good musician or father, so I'm focusing my energy on the latter.
To the band, it's been great. I don't know what else to say, but it's been great.
To the fans, it's been great. I certainly appreciate that all of you focused so much attention on me over the years (I'm kind of self-centered, you know). I appreciate everyone who really believed in us, and I even appreciate everyone who was nice enough to pretend they believed in us. Thank you all.
I'm not sure what will become of us. Ryan is playing with The Clipped Wing Culling, but I'm sure he'll come home someday too. Luther and Ross are probably stuck in AZ for the long haul, but that's good because they both have good women there to take care of them. Plus, Ross' p3n1$ would probably fall off if he couldn't golf year-round!
Well, peace out for what I can only imagine will be the last time. When I get back to AZ to gather my belongings, we will certainly try to throw together a "final show" since I left so quickly for MN that we didn't get a chance to give ourselves a proper farewell. We will keep you all posted.

After the ball drops (I said ball... then I said drops) to start 2008, IdiotKin will, indeed, be heading into the studio to start recording their new album.
We are working on all the preliminary shit right now, and Reese and I will be starting things off soon, again doing our recording with our outstanding engineer, Greg Naylor, in Mesa, AZ.
We've slowed our playing schedule a little as of late, but we'll be picking up again soon to practice and support the new record. Now, if that doesn't just inspire a whole shit-load of confidence, huh?... practice live in front of people, rather than just being prepared.
Anyway, have a happy and safe holiday season, and we'll look forward to seeing you all at our up-coming shows.

Only Crime this Friday

We're playing with Fat Wreck Chords band Only Crime on Friday Feb. 9th at That One Place in Downtown Phoenix. We're playing with the New Mexican Disaster Squad (greatest name for a band since IdiotKin) and local heart throbs Down By Fire. If you want pre-sell tickets we have a stack and we'll gladly part ways with them.
